SolarCity and solar power retailer SolarCity will sell kits of solar energy storage and charging equipment at its stores.
The SolarCity Energy Storage Kit will cost $79.95 and can be purchased at select stores, according to a statement from the retailer.
SolarCity said that it will sell its storage products at select locations, including Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Amazon, Best Buy, Lowe and other retailers.
SolarCity and the SolarCity Group, a private equity firm, have invested in companies that sell solar energy equipment and services, including SolarCity Power.
“We are pleased to be able to offer these kits to our customers and the world, and to work with our partners to provide solar energy customers with the products and services they need to make informed choices in their energy portfolio,” SolarCity President and Chief Technology Officer Joe Robbins said in the statement.
According to the statement, customers who buy the Solar Energy Storage Kits will be charged a 10 percent installation fee.
