In the coming months, the US will install around 5 gigawatts of solar power, the equivalent of roughly 15 percent of the nation’s total power production.
That’s more than enough to power about 10 million homes, and enough to supply all the electricity needed by about 1.2 million people.
The US solar industry is one of the fastest growing in the world, and with the election of Donald Trump as US president, a surge in demand for solar power is sure to follow.
This is not a time to be complacent, however.
This year’s solar market is expected to grow by about 8 percent to about 7 gigawatts.
And with the number of solar projects under construction and a growing supply of solar panels, the future of the US solar market looks bright.
